Blurb (from Goodreads):

The last time I saw my best friend’s younger brother, he was a geek wearing braces. But when Cannon shows up to crash in my spare room, I get a swift reality check. Now twenty-four, he’s broad shouldered and masculine, and so sinfully sexy, I want to climb him like the jungle gyms we used to enjoy. At six-foot-something with lean muscles hiding under his T-shirt, a deep sexy voice, and full lips that pull into a smirk when he studies me, he’s pure temptation.Fresh out of a messy breakup, he doesn’t want any entanglements. But I can resist, right?I’m holding strong until the third night of our new arrangement when we get drunk and he confesses his biggest secret of all: he’s cursed when it comes to sex. Apparently, he’s a god in bed, and women instantly fall in love with him.

I’m calling bullshit. In fact, I’m going to prove him wrong, and if I rack up a few much-needed orgasms in the process, all the better.

There’s no way I’m going to fall in love with Cannon. But once we start…I realize betting against him may have been the biggest mistake of my life.

My Thoughts

This book was so fun to read about. It was a quick read and had all the elements which I enjoy in a New-Adult book. I’m so glad I got to read this one.

When Cannon’s place gets trashed by his ex-girlfriend, he desperately needs a place to stay. The solution comes in the form of his sister’s BFF, Paige who agrees to let him stay with her for a while. They try to stay away from each other despite their obvious chemistry. But then one drunken night when Cannon confesses a major thing about him but Paige decides to prove him wrong and makes a bet. Then all goes to hell.

(See… I’m getting better and better at this blurb thingy. :/ )

I enjoyed this book soo much. Although the plot was predictable, I loved the execution. After Cannon’s place get destroyed by his ex-girlfriend, he turns to his sister for help who in turn points out to Paige who agrees to be his roommate until he gets a job. I enjoyed the banter between the two. Their chemistry was undeniable and I just loved these two together sooo much!

I liked the various flavours which the character provided. Paige was a smart and strong woman. I liked how she was in control of her emotions and Cannon was the only one who could break through. Cannon was definitely a swoon-worthy guy and I loved him so much, he was just so freaking perfect! I absolutely loved the romance between them.

Although most of the characters were fun to read about, I really hated one character. Allie, Cannon’s sister was really a crappy best friend and a sister. She does redeem herself in the end but still, it doesn’t make it right how she thought she was right all the time and her best friend was just a barrier in his brother’s future.

Overall, The Room Mate was a fun read! The plot was executed well and I enjoyed the characters. I really loved the chemistry between Paige and Cannon. The writing was smooth and easy to read and the pace was even throughout the book. I really liked how everything turned out in the end and I’m definitely looking forward to reading more by this author.
