Blurb (from Goodreads):

Izzie Rinaldi has everything going for her. All she has to do is make it through her senior year of college, and then she’ll be off to law school, one step closer to assuming her position at the head of her family’s empire. After a chance encounter with the campus bad boy, Izzie can’t get him out of her head.

Luca Marchese, the smooth-talking son of the most notorious man in Philadelphia, is used to getting what he wants. He hasn’t forgotten the girl he knew as a child, and now that he has Izzie’s attention, Luca will stop at nothing to have her.

Luca’s defiance of the law turns Izzie on more than she cares to admit. She wants Luca to corrupt her in every way possible, despite his reputation as the king of one-night stands. Their attraction is undeniable, but their desire for one another isn’t enough for Izzie to overlook visits from federal agents and the potential ruin of her family.

Linked to Luca and a criminal underworld, Izzie discovers she’s more like him than she thought. But a future with Luca could mean swapping her diamond bracelets for a pair of handcuffs.

*Corrupt Me is a standalone novel that is the first book in the Philly Corruption series.

My Thoughts

Corrupt Me was a really interesting read. Jillian is one of my blogger friends and I couldn’t wait to read this book from the time I heard about it. I’m glad to say this book didn’t disappoint. It had the perfect combination of everything I love in an NA book and I loved the ride so much!

Izzie Rinaldi has everything and she is soon to become the head of her family empire. One encounter with Luca Marchese rekindles her feelings for him once again. Despite that, she tries to stay away from him but it becomes quite difficult when he’s keen on proving he’s not as bad as she thinks. When new complications arise, will Izzie take chance on her heart or her head?

The plot hooked me right from the start. We are introduced to Izzie who is sassy and isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Her family has quite the reputation in town and so does Luca’s  who belongs from a Mafia family. They both know a relationship between them is not possible considering their family history but they both can’t stay away from each other. Their chemistry was explosive and damn I shipped them so much!

“Everything about him screamed danger, and I wanted him to corrupt me in every way possible.”

The characters were layered and I enjoyed the character growth. Izzie was such a damn great character, I loved her stubbornness and I enjoyed how she maturely handled things. Luca was oh so swoon worthy! I loved him so much, he did everything in his power to not let her go again and I loved his family as well. I enjoyed how the plot was executed, nothing felt rushed and the romance was pretty great!

Overall, Corrupt Me was a great read! I loved the plot and the characters were pretty interesting. The romance between Izzie and Luca was sooo good! The writing was great and smooth and the pace was even throughout the book. Gosh! I can’t wait to read more in this series!
