Blurb (from Goodreads):

Baseball player Kyle Sawyer has many labels: bad boy, delinquent, ladies’ man, fearless outfielder… Only one of them is actually true. But then sweet ballet dancer Faith Gladwell asks him to help wreck her reputation, and everything goes sideways.

Faith knows a thing or two about love, and what she had with her cheating jerk of an ex wasn’t it. When he starts spreading rumors about her being an Ice Queen, Faith decides it’s time to let a little bad into her life.

Lucky for her, Kyle Sawyer—dark, dangerous, totally swoon worthy Kyle Sawyer—is landscaping her backyard over Spring Break. Shirtless. And if she can convince him to play along, “dating” Kyle will silence the rumors.

But Faith’s plan threatens to expose Sawyer’s biggest secret of all…and that’s a risk he’s not willing to take.

My Thoughts

This book was sooo adorable! I enjoyed reading it so much!

Faith needs an immediate measure to control the damage done by her ex-boyfriend, so she strikes a deal with the bad boy of the school- Kyle, to prove that the rumors are wrong. Faith knows she is stepping into a dangerous territory knowing that Kyle is a playboy but when she gets to know him, the stories don’t match. Will she be able to discover the real Kyle behind all the facade?

The plot was pretty enjoyable. Yes, it was a bit predictable but I loved the way everything was executed. When Faith catches her boyfriend red handed cheating on her, she immediately breaks up with him but the next day she gets to know that he is spreading wrong rumors about her in the whole school. To tackle this situation she makes a deal with Kyle that they will be in a pretend relationship so that everybody gets their facts straight. I loved Kyle and Faith together, they were incredibly sweet together!

Kyle is a dyslexic and he got bullied as a kid, that’s why he hides behind the facade of a bad boy when in reality he is the total opposite. This was definitely a refreshing change where we got a shy and swoony guy as our lead! I liked Faith as well, she was a strong character and I enjoyed the way their relationship moved forward.

I could understand Kyle’s insecurities, why he didn’t want to tell her all his secrets but when he finally confessed, it was sooo freaking great! I also loved Cade for being such a great friend to both Kyle and Faith but I definitely hated Cameron who just wanted to have sex with Faith and not some real meaningful relationship. Nonetheless, I loved how things nicely wrapped up in the end.

Overall, The Bad Boy Bargain was an enjoyable read. I loved the plot as well as the characters. The romance between Kyle and Faith was sweet! The writing was smooth and easy to read and the pace was even throughout the book. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Recommend it?

  1. Oh I am definitely going to read this. Firstly because, the male character’s name is Kyle, which is my son’s name too, and secondly, because he also has dyslexia. My son was also bullied during Kindergarten until 2nd grade. (Fortunately it stopped when he transferred schools and is now on the 5th grade). So I think this book is for me. (Although I should not imagine my own son as the adult version of Kyle in this book. Ha haha. Lovely review, dear!
