Blurb (from Goodreads):

Tragedy has brought Micaela Burgos back to her hometown of Sleepy Hollow. It’s been six years since she chose to live with her affluent father in Miami instead of her history-obsessed eccentric mother. And now her mother is dead.

But while Sleepy Hollow was made immortal by literature, the town is real. So are its prejudices and hatred, targeting Mica’s Cuban family and the secrets of their heritage that her mother obsessed over. But ghostly voices whisper in the wind, questioning whether her mother’s death might not have been an accident after all, and Mica knows there’s a reason she’s here.

With the help of two very different guys—who pull at her heart in very different ways— Micaela must uncover the hidden secret of Sleepy Hollow…before she meets her mother’s fate.

USEEEEEEEEE

Wake the Hollow was such an intriguing read!  It was deliciously creepy, even chilling at time but I loved every moment it.

Micaela or Mica returns to Sleepy Hollow after six years. She has gotten an urgent message from her mother to come back to town but after a few days her mother is found dead. Nonetheless, Mica comes to find some closure along with some answers to what happened and why her mother wanted her here. But finding the answers are not he only problem, her nightmares won’t stop plaguing her and now she is even seeing that faceless woman outside her dreams and hearing the headless horseman. Is Mica really losing it or is there something far more mysterious than she ever thought?

The plot was freaking interesting! I was hooked within a few chapters. This book was seriously creepy and I started reading it after midnight which made it even creepier! Gosh! I felt so scared at times but I couldn’t stop reading either. Mica returns to the town of Sleepy Hollow after six years. She has been living with her father and hadn’t been in communication with her mother. But after she gets a sudden note from her and after a few days later when she is found dead, Mica runs back to town to find out what happened. But she is not welcomed at all, especially because her mother claimed something that the whole town didn’t like and she was a laughing stock. Only Bram who used to be her best friend is by her side. The mysterious aspect was handled well, I was so curious to get to the end of it.

All the characters were fleshed out really well. I loved Mica as our main protagonist. She was curious and brave and I am glad she stuck this time to find out the truth behind everything. Mica’s vision and her suffering from sleep paralysis were vividly painted and experiencing sleep paralysis firsthand, I know how scary it can be. Nonetheless it was a pretty intriguing aspect but it was downright scary at times.

Both Bram and Dane were interesting characters. Although there was a little love triangle thingy but this book wasn’t heavily focused on romance and I was glad because the other factors were much more interesting.  The author did an excellent job of hiding the villain at plain sight. I didn’t even think about it and I was as surprised as Mica when she found out the truth. The mystery surrounding Irwin and Mary Shelley was done really well. It was especially due to this fact that I was even more hooked. This was soo interesting. And the plot twist was freaking awesome as well!

Overall, Wake the Hollow was a nice and creepy read which I enjoyed very much. The plot was interesting from the very beginning and managed to surprise me at every turn! The writing was smooth and easy to read and the pace was even throughout the book. I really look forward to read more books by this author.
