Blurb (from Goodreads):

She created the game, but the rules are about to change.

Taurus: Hold fast to your single-minded nature today—no matter how long her legs or how lush her red lips.

Gemini: You were a shining star last night, but reality can be a real—well, you get the picture. Just remember: Tall, dark, and British equals no corner office for you.

Will Evans never wanted a reason to stay.

Holly Chandler wants nothing more than for him to go.

But neither one is prepared for what can happen in six months. Because it doesn’t matter what you want when what you need walks out the door.

Holly’s been busting her butt to make partner at Trousseau and there’s no way she’s going to let some stuck-up British arsehole get in her way—no matter how drop-dead gorgeous he is. But that doesn’t mean she can’t have a little fun in the process. She has a six-month rule: date just long enough for the honeymoon phase to wear off, then walk away before anyone gets hurt. If they both know the rules up front, walking away will be a piece of cake. Or maybe not…

This book was sooo good! I loved every bit of it as much as book 1 of this series and I was so glad that it didn’t follow the predictable path and ended up being a refreshing read. You can read my review of book 1, here.

For Holly work always comes first. She doesn’t have time for anyone else. That’s why she created a rule of enjoying herself for six months before moving on  as she never finds herself falling in love. Will is her new project partner and if she makes this project a success she might end up scoring big. That’s another big reason for Holly to not start anything with Will but she simply can’t resist the British accent. Rules are about to be broken as she finds herself falling for the only guy she thought she never would, especially when she knows that she’ll never be his first priority.

I enjoyed the plot of Six Months Rule! Although it did start in a typical NA fashion but I was glad when it moved away from the usual trope. I really enjoyed this factor and it definitely played a major role in the story. Holly firmly believes that work will only be her love, forever. But when Will comes into the picture, things begin to change. At first, she starts playing with her rules as she always had but slowly everything begin to change, for both of them. I loved Will and Holly’s chemistry and the romance was just mind-blowing! I was so heartbroken when Will said something to Holly that he shouldn’t have and I cried so much at that portion although I could feel it was going to happen!

Nonetheless, I loved the character development throughout the book. Holly was a stubborn character but she was simply amazing! She was hard-working and caring. And she did everything with a passion. Will was a great character as well but he believed that he didn’t deserve happiness because of a past mistake and he held on to that. But I was glad when someone (I loved this someone!) pointed out that he deserved it as well and he finally saw past it and did everything to make it up to her. It was also great to see the characters from book 1.

Overall, Six Months Rule was a great read! The plot was thoroughly entertaining and I loved the characters! The chemistry between Holly and Will was undeniable and I’m loving this series so much! The writing was smooth and easy to read and the pace was even throughout the book.  I am simply loving A.J. Pine’s work and I can’t wait to read more of her works in the future!

Recommend it?

Yes!
