Blurb (from Goodreads):

Seventeen-year-old Serena isn’t human. She is a bad blood, and in the city of Vendona, bad bloods are executed. In the last moments before she faces imminent death, a prison guard aids her escape and sparks a revolt. Back on the streets determined to destroy her kind, Serena is spared by a fellow bad blood named Daniel. His past tragedies are as equally mysterious as her connection to them. Unbeknownst to the two, this connection is the key to winning the election for bad bloods’ rights to be seen as human again. But Serena is the only one who can secure Vendona’s vote. Now, Daniel must unite with her before all hope is lost and bad bloods are eradicated, even if it means exposing secrets worse than death itself. United or not, a city will fight, rain will fall, and all will be threatened by star-crossed love and political corruption.

This book was fresh and refreshing! I loved the characters and how everything was described. This was a really enjoyable read.

Serena is a bad blood. Bad bloods possess some unique powers and are considered a threat to the society. Hence, they are executed. Serena escapes at the last moment with a help of a prison guard. But while she’s in the verge of being caught again, she is helped by Daniel who is another bad blood, just like her. Daniel believes she can play a huge part in Vendona’s vote so that bad bloods are granted some equal rights. But what happens when personal rivalry nudges in and Serena’s not sure about herself?

This was a pretty interesting read. The plot kept me intrigued from the very beginning.  I loved the concept  of the Bad Bloods. Serena luckily succeeded in escaping from being executed at the very last moment and in the streets she is helped by Daniel who takes her to his house where he resides with some other bad bloods. I loved learning about them and there so were so many characters and they all possessed unique qualities. Cal was an interesting character as well, he was not a bad blood but he was a father figure to Daniel and all the other kids. I was curious to know more about Serena and her flock, but I didn’t trust Robert much, he felt a little shady to me, I can’t wait to find out what happens in the next part!

I liked Serena, she possessed a great amount of power but she is still not able to control all of it. Daniel and some of his friends believe that she can help all the bad bloods in a much higher way but Serena’s not so sure about that. There was not much romance in this book but I liked how the relationship between Serena and Daniel developed. I loved the word-building and how everything was depicted. I am keen to find out more about the political upheaval and what role Serena plays.

Overall, November Rain was a great read. The plot and the characters were pretty interesting and I was hooked from the very first page. The writing was smooth and easy to read and the pace was fast throughout the book. I easily finished this book in two sittings, it was hard to put it down. I am so excited to read the next part and see what happens!
