Blurb (from Goodreads):

He’s driving her crazy…

Piper West is finally on her own, and it’s time to get crazy. Except that her overprotective big bro has enlisted his ex-cop best friend to keep an eye on his baby sister. With every move monitored and reported back, Piper’s life has gone from “going crazy” to “being driven crazy.” But a searing-hot kiss with her sexy and scarred watchdog is just the game-changer she needs…

Cole Black owes Piper’s brother big-time, but there’s nothing easy about his new assignment. Piper is all feisty sexiness and curves meant to tempt a man beyond reason, and Cole can’t stop himself. Now he’s caught up in a hunger like nothing he’s ever known, and he can’t get enough…

Even if Piper’s the one girl he’s not allowed to have.

I haven’t read any book from Indulgence before, this was my very first. Well, this was definitely something. While this book had it’s ups and downs, nonetheless I enjoyed it pretty much. And that yummy cover, definitely a plus!

Piper is living all alone in the cottage that she used to share with Alex and Rusty as they have moved out. Deke, being the typical protective brother requests his friend Cole, an ex-cop to stay next doors for the safety of his sister. But these two have a history. Piper had always loved Cole but he had never reciprocated although the feelings were quite mutual. Specially after the accident, Cole had shut out everybody but when he’s with Piper he feels different. Will he be able to forgive himself and have a future with Piper or will his guilt destroy himself?

The blurb seemed fun and forbidden which resulted in me requesting this book. This definitely had those two elements but it had sadness and guilt as well. Cole blamed himself for the death of his partner while they were chasing a suspect. He was emotionally scarred, he felt he was not entitled to be happy in his life. But being with Piper changed that and made him question about life. I loved the chemistry between these two and I definitely enjoyed the romance. Sometimes it did get a bit monotonous but other than that it was a pretty enjoyable read.

I loved Piper’s character, she was a strong woman who wanted to prove herself to her loved ones that she was equally capable as them. I liked her relationship with Alex and Rusty, her two best friends and also her brother, despite being overprotective, he was a really nice guy. So, the plot had its clichéd elements but I loved the execution nonetheless. There was a creepy factor included and I liked the mystery surrounding it. Last but not the least, I definitely loved when Cole finally moved on and accepted what life had to offer.

Overall, Wrecked was an enjoyable read. The plot was executed neatly and the characters were pretty great. I enjoyed the sizzling chemistry and the writing was smooth and easy to read. The pace was even throughout the book. After reading this book, I definitely want to read the first two books in this series as well.

Recommend it?
