Blurb (from Goodreads):

This Montgomery Has a Head for Business

Working for Zach Montgomery is challenging on many levels-coming from a wealthy and powerful family, he lives by his own rules and doesn’t answer to anyone. But Gabriella Martine has no intention of backing down. She’s used to handling stubborn men, and it doesn’t hurt that Zach is smart, charismatic…and gorgeous.

And a Heart for Adventure

Zach’s perfect world is turned upside down when a climbing accident leaves him broken, angry, and maddeningly dependent. In his slow quest for recovery, Gabriella is always there to help…but as Zach comes to see his beautiful assistant in a new light, he is forced to re-evaluate what it really means to be a man worthy of Gabriella’s love.

I’ll Be There was a beautiful story about second chance romance. Well not exactly the traditional kind of way but it still was. It can be read as a standalone but I think all the characters from the previous book in this series make an entrance and they were all simply amazing, made me wish I had read the previous books as well.

Zach Montgomery runs a successful business but he has an heart for adventure as well. After a fatal incident nearly kills him, he is bed ridden. He looses all hope. After a lot of convincing from his family members he agrees to start doing therapy and work from his house. In comes, Gabriella Martine. She has been his assistant forever and knows perfectly how to handle him. They have a hot and cold relationship but there used to be a time when they were friends as well. When Zach realises his mistake, can he move past his insecurities or will it be too late to move forward together?

Close up on a man and a woman holding hands at a wooden table

I adored this book so much! It was so heartwarming and felt so realistic. Zach almost got killed after a climbing accident which immobilised him and he absolutely hated to rely on other people. There was a lot of banter between him and Gabriella which I enjoyed very much. It took a long time for him to actually straighten his goal and work towards it and Gabriella helped a lot in this process. I loved their romance, both of them wanted to be together for a long time but they simply held back because of mere misunderstandings. I absolutely adored how he wooed her back. Of course, their relationship wasn’t all rainbows and unicorns but they both helped and held onto each other.

I liked Gabriella’s character. She was a smart and strong woman. Even after Zach treated her badly, she never gave up on him. She always stayed by his side. Zach’s impulsive decesions sometimes got on my nerves but I understood what he was going through and I was so glad when he finally came to his senses. I felt so proud for Gabriella when she finally stood upto her family, undoubtedly one of the best moment in this book. Their relationship proceeded slowly and steadily and their chemistry was undeniable. Nothing about their relationship felt rushed.

Family played an important role in this book which I definitely loved. Although Gabriella didn’t have a healthy functioning family but Zach’s family was absolutely mind blowing. He had a biiiiig family and everybody was so warm and welcoming. They were all genuinely worried about Zach and it was pretty clear how much they loved him. I specially loved William, Zach’s uncle. He loved playing matchmaker and had a significant contribution for getting Zach and Gabriella together, it was pretty fun to read. Summer, Zach’s sister was another great character whom I dearly loved and enjoyed reading her scenes.

Overall, I’ll Be There was a pretty great read. The plot was executed perfectly and all the characters were memorable. This book also had a great set of secondary characters whom I absolutely adored. I enjoyed the romance and chemistry between Zach and Gabriella and nothing felt rushed at all. The writing style was smooth and beautiful and the pace was even throughout the book. I really enjoyed this book and I’ll definitely be looking forward to read more works by this author.

Author Bio:

SamanthaNew York Times and USA Today Bestseller/contemporary romance writer Samantha Chase released her debut novel, Jordan’s Return, in November 2011. Although she waited until she was in her 40’s to publish for the first time, writing has been a lifelong passion. Her motivation to take that step was her students: teaching creative writing to elementary age students all the way up through high school and encouraging those students to follow their writing dreams gave Samantha the confidence to take that step as well.

When she’s not working on a new story, she spends her time reading contemporary romances, playing way too many games of Scrabble or Solitaire on Facebook and spending time with her husband of 25 years and their two sons in North Carolina.
