Blurb (from Goodreads):
Lizzie Barber runs a successful flower shop by day and secretly hosts the Naked Baker webcast at night to help pay for her younger sister’s education. To keep friends and family from finding out about her sexy secret, she’s put her social life on hold until her sister’s education is paid off and she can stop filming the webcast.
Blue Ryder fell hard for Lizzie Barber when he met her a year ago, and he hasn’t been able to get her off his mind since. Everything about the feisty little brunette, from her tight bod to her seductive smile, cuts straight to his heart. Though Lizzie has turned down every invitation he’s extended–Blue is not about to give up trying.
Renovating Lizzie’s kitchen brings Blue further into Lizzie’s life, and the oven is not the only thing heating up. One night and one powerful kiss changes everything. But when Lizzie’s secret is revealed and the safe bubble she’s hidden in shatters, true love may not be enough to put the pieces back together.
I loved Seized by Love, it was a quite different book. The plot was woven beautifully and the characters were pretty great. I specially enjoyed the romantic aspect of the book and the fact that love and trust can help overcome any issue in life.
The story revolves around the life of Lizzie who runs a flower shop and also secretly does a webcast known as Naked Baker for funding her younger sister’s education so that she doesn’t have to face the difficulties that she had to face during her college years. Blue and Lizzie has been friends for a year, due to this secret she has turned down Blue every single time. But when he comes to renovate her kitchen, they are forced to spend some time together. Unable to resist the temptation anymore she gives in. But when the truth about her Naked Baker show comes out, it’s upto them to decide that if they want to go different ways or give their love a chance.
I enjoyed the plot, it was quite different. Lizzie and Blue has been friends for a year and he has been asking her out for a long time. Unable to resist anymore, Lizzie finally gives in. I definitely loved their romance, it was passionate and sexy. Most of all, I loved the understanding and trust between them. Another thing which I loved was that Blue didn’t get to know about the Naked Baker show from any other source, Lizzie summed up her courage and told Blue himself about her secret. It took a lot of guts for her to do that because she knew there was a chance that she would loose Blue forever. At first I was angry at Blue’s initial reaction but then when I sat and thought, it was a pretty natural one. Anybody would react like that if they came to know their loved ones do something like that. But nonetheless, Blue did his best to put this issue aside because his love for her was more important than anything else. I really liked this fact, he was ready to do anything to have her in his life.
I simply loved the characters in this book. Blue was a perfect gentleman. He waited for a year to go out with Lizzie, he never gave up. Of course at first he was shocked and it bothered the hell outta him that his girlfriend did something like the Naked Baker show but I loved hia strength and willpower to put love first than anything else. And also the small things he did for her, that was really sweet. I liked Lizzie a lot, she was a perfect sister. She didn’t like doing the show but she didn’t want to be in put down under the loans, so she started doing the show and continued doing it for her sister. I simply loved the fact that she told Blue everything herself, I loved her courage and she was a pretty determined woman.
The writing was simple and easy to read. It could have been a little better if this book was a little shorter than its original length, because I found myself skimming a few portions. Nonetheless I liked this book and the pace was even throughout the book.
Overall, Seized by Love was a book that I liked a lot. It had a beautiful plot with great characters. I liked the trust and love depicted in this book and I definitely enjoyed the steamy romance between Blue and Lizzie. The writing was smooth and the pace was even throughout the book. I’m so glad I got a chance to read this wonderful book.
