Blurb (from Goodreads):

Alexis Wyndham is the other type of Queen B—the Queen Bitch.

After years of being the subject of ridicule, she revels in her ability to make the in-crowd cower via the exposés on her blog, The Eastline Spy. Now that she’s carved out her place in the high school hierarchy, she uses her position to help the unpopular kids walking the hallways.

Saving a freshman from bullies? Check.
Swapping insults with the head cheerleader? Check.
Falling for the star quarterback? So not a part of her plan.

But when Brett offers to help her solve the mystery of who’s posting X-rated videos from the girls’ locker room, she’ll have to swallow her pride and learn to see past the high school stereotypes she’s never questioned—until now.

Confession of a Queen B* was a fun and a very entertaining read. I really liked the drama and the romantic aspect of the book which was very engaging.

The story is about a girl named Alexis Wyndham. After being betrayed by her best friend who read her diary infront of the whole school, she turned into the Queen Bitch. Now she exposes all the wrong doings in her school through her blog known as The Eastline Spy like cheating, bullying etc. She also relishes in her power as nobody wants to mess with her. The only one who is not afraid of her is Brett, the handsome football quarterback. When they are teamed up for a school project, the undeniable attraction becomes too much for both of them to avoid. Also a new issue arises, somebody has been capturing videos of the girls locker room. Together they set out to find who’s behind this as the chemistry increases between them.

The plot was well devolved. It mostly focused on the relationship between Alexis and Brett. And I actually liked it, very much. The book started with a slow note and finally it started to sped up when Alexis and Brett were assigned on a school project and they had to work together. When Alexis’s sister brought it up about the illegal videos of them being shot and uploaded in YouTube, she decided to take everything in her hands. But that didn’t solve the problem and when Brett offered to help, she accepted it. If this situation wouldn’t have arrived who knows when they would have kissed. Their first kiss was very, very steamy in the girls locker room, in the janitor’s closet! (I know! Hilarious situation!) I really loved the romance, it was sooo good and I craved for more. The illegal videos part was the sub-plot rather than the main plot and it was handled well, I liked Brett’s perspective on that and how he made her understand.

I liked the characters as well. Alexis or Lexi was smart, witty and sarcastic. She was soft at heart but she didn’t like to show that because she didn’t want to let her guards down and be betrayed again. And Brett, well he was gorgeously handsome and a really good guy. He liked to spend time with his family, specially his little sisters. And he gave Alexis a chance to experience what that was like and he easily passed through the facade of Alexis and understood the girl behind the mask. The two best friends of Alexis were quite unique as well, one was a total goth and the other one gay. They were really good and supportive friends and also the ones who weren’t afraid of her. She could be herself infront of these people.

The writing was simple and beautiful. It was full of humour. The book was medium paced, neithrr too slow nor too fast. I easily breezed through this book and finished it quite fast.

Overall, the plot was intersting and steamy, the characters were great and the writing style was really good. This book didn’t exactly end in a cliffhanger but Alexis and Brett decided to give their friendship a try first before deciding which way it was headed. I really, really want to know what happens after this. Urgh, I can’t wait for book 2!!

Recommend it?

If you enjoy high school drama and romance, then absolutely yes!

Author Bio:

CristaGrowing up in small town Alabama, Crista relied on story-telling as a natural way for her to pass the time and keep her two younger sisters entertained.

She currently lives in the Audi-filled suburbs of Seattle with her husband and two children, maintaining her alter ego of mild-mannered physician by day while she continues to pursue writing on nights and weekends.

Just for laughs, here are some of the jobs she’s had in the past to pay the bills: barista, bartender, sommelier, stagehand, actress, morgue attendant, and autopsy assistant.

And she’s also a recovering LARPer. (She blames it on her crazy college days)
